Remember these? GBA Video came out in the dying days before the GBA Micro hit the scene. They were these nifty little carts that had episodes of all the big cartoons from around that time like Fairly Oddparents, Ed Edd n Eddy, Spongebob, Sonic X ect.
They were ok for their time, each cart had around two episodes of a show running a little under an hour (i’ve heard there’s one with the entire Shrek 2 movie, but never seen it). I remember buying one with Pokemon on it. Wasn’t too bad but as you’d imagine there was some noticeable lag and pixelated slop that made the experience less than enjoyable.
I got curious a week ago while doing a nightly ROM hunt and figured why not dig one up?

After about thirty minutes of digging, I managed to find Cartoon Network Vol.1 (entirely in french) and a Spongebob Squarepants compilation. I ran them on the GBA emulator on my Wii and viola, Sega CD quality FMV on my Wii! They’re watchable if you want to dig them up, but you’re better off watching these cartoons on youtube. Although I have to admit, watching Ed Edd n Eddy in french is hilarious.
Another interesting note, the GBA Video website is still up. It’s not been updated in a number of years, but nice to know that it’s still around.
